Back-from-the-dead? Target rumors running rampant in Apollo Beach

Apollo Beach - The rumor that wont stop rumoring about a Taget coming to Apollo Beach has resurfaced!

Circa 2016, a flyer was created by a Commercial Broker stating Target had announced plans to build a new store in Waterset at US 41 and Apollo Beach Blvd and that the new store would be opening in 2018…

This is NOT happening - at that location…maybe it was in 2016, but not in 2024 moving forward…

Now - If that rumor would have said a new Target might be being considered as part of The Promenade / Marketplace at Apollo Beach - aka the old Southshore Commons - on Big Bend Rd and I-75, well that’s something worth discussing…

With all the Costco rumors floating about Apollo Beach, it makes perfect sense that if a Costco might be built there, a Target is well within consideration since these 2 are working in tandem in Lakewood Ranch at The Marketplace at Heritage Harbour…

So…if Apollo Beach REALLY wants that Target and Costco, approval of Rezoning 24-0300 is what will help make that happen - along with 900+ units of mutli-family…(and maybe even a Home Depot if you're lucky!)
